Aquatic bicycle?

  1. the thought reminds me of my raucous youth when we'd tether our bikes to the dock of a lake with long ropes and pedal our bikes off the dock. then we'd climb back up out of the water and reel the bikes back up.

then again, our bikes weren't collectible vintage, merely old beaters... the thought of salt water + mechanical parts just makes me cringe now!

  2. somervillain - The Co-Habitant would relate to your raucous youth! I just hope he doesn't try it now. Boys will be boisterous.

  3. When I was a kid, I used to envision winning the Tour de France and sailing with Jacques Cousteau. I guess the Co-Habitant combined both, sort of. Meilleurs voeux a lui, et a vous.

  4. At times like that I always hope the brakes work...well.

  6. Once I saw someone skiing the top of a pond on homemade styrofoam skis and cubes of foam at the ends of poles.

  7. anna: I really like that picture of the acquatic bicycle. I day dream about riding around the world someday, I could perhaps literally do it on a bicycle.

  8. That turn looks a little tricky. One slip, and you are off. Judging by the angle of the wheel, it was a close shave ?

  9. anna - Wow, that is definitely made from an actual bicycle!
